Location: Laos ~ Burma ~ Thailand Luang Prabang Overview ~ One Day ~ Around Town ~ Oldest Temple ~ Waterfall ~ Whiskey Village
This is the oldest temple in Luang Prabang. It's along the Mae Kong river, walk across the street and you've got the main Dock.
This is the main Buddha image inside. All of the artwork you see on the back walls, ceiling, and poles is hand painted. The Buddha, sitting, is probably almost 2-people tall.
A close up example of the painting. The style is intentionally left simple, so as to be a gold and black pattern and to create a uniform style which seems to work well.
The lotus' outside the temple are studded with pieces of blue mirror-like glass, which creates a gem-like shine.
Some friends from Singapore and I with a full shot of the temple. Overview ~ One Day ~ Around Town ~ Oldest Temple ~ Waterfall ~ Whiskey Village
